About Oldson Farm

We started Oldson Farm in 2020 with a handful of seeds and a dream to grow something beautiful.

Our family run farm is nestled in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, BC. We grow a variety of fresh cut flowers on our small scale farm, including dahlias, sunflowers, tulips and more. We work hard to grow our flowers as sustainably as possible and to work with the ecosystem around us. Half of our 8 acre farm is left as natural forest to help preserve nature's beautiful diversity. In an effort to reduce the amount of single use plastics, we use compostable and recyclable paper to wrap our flowers. We use the soil blocking method to cut down the use of seed starting pots.

About Us

I grew up on the farm when it was an aquatic plant nursery run by my parents. I moved to the city where I met my husband, twelve years and two kids later we decided to move back to the farm to encourage a love and understanding of nature in our children. My parents had closed the plant nursery and were unsure of where to go with the farm next. Together with my husband and parents we decided to try growing loofah and cut flowers. We started with a few beds the first year and fell in love. So the second year we jumped in with both feet and created our main field of 12 - 96ft rows and an additional spring blooming field for our bulbs.
